Lauren Mattingly

Lauren Mattingly is a Senior Educational Consultant at Teaching Matters with expertise in literacy instruction, curriculum and assessment development and data driven instructional practices. In this role, Lauren dedicates time to observing and coaching educators, engaging in strategic data analysis, and collaborating with school leaders to create systems in which teachers understand and implement Common Core’s three key shifts in ELA in their instruction. As a thought partner and instructional coach, Lauren is dedicated to producing growth from learners at all levels.

Prior to joining Teaching Matters, Lauren began her career teaching elementary school, grades 3-5. She went on to become an instructional leader at a turnaround school in Brooklyn, coaching teachers on the implementation of standards-aligned, data-driven instruction. She was also a network curriculum and assessment writer, where her teams continuously out performed district and state averages on the New York State Exams. Lauren earned a Bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education from Purdue University and a Master of Arts in Elementary Education K-6 Teaching from Relay Graduate School of Education.
