Dana Creel

Public Relations Consultant

Dana Fentress Creel has served as a Co-Chair of Teaching Matters’ Chairman’s Council for nearly a decade, and is an enthusiastic advocate for supporting the professional development of teachers in order to improve education for urban public school students. Through her role on the Chairman’s Council, Dana has used her past communications and special events experience to actively message Teaching Matters’ mission to New York City’s philanthropic community.

Dana’s interest in education is far-reaching. In addition to her commitment to Teaching Matters, she is also a member of the Alumni board at St. George’s School in Newport, RI.

Dana received her Bachelor of Arts from Boston College’s Lynch School of Education and Human Development. She has worked in Public Relations and Special Events at a variety of companies including; Ralph Lauren, Nadine Johnson PR and Harrison & Schriftman. Most recently, she consulted on the retail, brand, and event strategy for Beautycounter, a skincare and cosmetics company whose mission is to provide access to safer products for everyone. She was previously their Director of Events.

Dana lives in Manhattan and is the mother of two children, ages 16 and 18. Her husband, Larry Creel, is a Partner and Portfolio Manager at Edgewood Management.
