If we think about the history of redlining in this country, we have funded our education system primarily on a source of income that was systematically denied from families of color for years… I think we under-invest in our children across the board, but the experience of families of color, where this has been done on top of redlining, is why this is such a profound disinvestment in our kids of color and in our urban communities.”
