Temica Francis, Ed.D.

Dr. Temica Francis is currently a Senior Educational Consultant at Teaching Matters working on the Early Reading Matters program. Her expertise is in supporting educators to set a data driven focus for teacher and student learning to inform instructional practices, engaging teachers in learning new instructional strategies and practices while establishing a respectful and emotionally safe culture that promotes collaboration and equity for all.  

She has nine years of teaching experience, during which time, she became a National Board Certified Teacher as an Early Childhood Generalist. She has had eleven years of experience as an administrator within the New York City Department of Education as well as one year in a charter school. She has attained Data Wise in Action Certification from Harvard University.

Dr. Francis has a Bachelor’s Degree in Elementary Education, a Master’s Degree in Teaching of Reading from Long Island University and a Master’s Degree in School Administration and Supervision /School District Leader from Touro College. She also obtained a Doctorate of Education in Educational and Policy Leadership from Hofstra University and is an Adjunct Assistant Professor in the Elementary Education & Early Childhood Education department at Queens College.
