Ana Haggerty joins Teaching Matters after six years of experience teaching in district and charter schools in New York City. In the 2012-2013 school year, Ana participated in a pilot program with the NYC Department of Education’s Office of Teacher Effectiveness to demonstrate schools’ progress in implementing The Danielson Framework for Teaching, and give feedback on the development of protocols for peer walkthroughs and feedback cycles. Most recently, she has served as a Director of English as a New Language (ENL) Services across K-12 and as an Academic Dean. She is passionate about using data to drive instructional practices, academic vocabulary instruction, and building the capacity of all teachers to integrate second language acquisition into core content. Ana obtained her Bachelor of Arts Degree in Government from Dartmouth College and Master of Science in Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages from Fordham University Graduate School of Education.
