Patricia Virella is an urban educator who has worked in the urban setting for over a decade. She is a P.h.D student at the Neag School of Education at the University of Connecticut. Recently, Patricia has served as Managing Editor of Educational Administration Quarterly. Additionally, she serves as faculty at Sarah Lawrence College’s Art of Teaching Program, instructing the course titled “Educating for Diversity” and “Emergent Curriculum.” Ms. Virella is a former elementary school principal and lifelong educator. Her research interests include urban education, educational leadership, urban education policy analysis and pre-service teacher education.
