The Teaching Matters NSI

We are a community of middle schools working together to ensure all students are prepared for high school and beyond, through the integration of culturally responsive-sustaining practices and continuous improvement methods.

We Aim to

Increase the number of Black and Latinx students, and students experiencing poverty, who end 8th grade prepared for high school and beyond.

If We...

Focus on Culturally Responsive-Sustaining practices and amplify student voice

Using...

Systematic methods for improvement and networked collaboration

Then...

Educators will teach and lead in culturally responsive ways that validate and affirm students’ identities

So that...

Students achieve equitable outcomes, leaving middle school on track for success in high school and beyond
