Molly Perez is a Senior Educational Consultant for Teaching Matters with an expertise in middle and high school social studies and teacher leadership. In this position, she supports educators in strengthening the skills of students to become critical and analytical learners of history. Molly also has extensive experience in coaching teachers to build the literacy skills of their students across the content areas. Her expertise also includes supporting teachers align their curriculum to the new Regents Exams in high school and training teacher leaders to run highly effective classrooms and teams. As a member of our Assessment Matters team, she works with teachers to build assessment informed climates within their schools and classrooms.
Prior to joining Teaching Matters, Molly was a middle school and High School social studies teacher and Lead Teacher at a highly successful 6-12 school in the South Bronx. She was also an Assistant Principal at a successful Charter High School in the South Bronx. She has earned a dual Bachelors Degree in Psychology and Sociology from Tulane University, an Ed.M. degree from Teacher’s College in Teaching of History and the Teaching of the Deaf and Hard-of-Hearing and completed her course work to earn her SBL and SDL license from the College of Saint Rose.
