Senior Educational Consultant
Molly Dawson is an Educational Consultant for Teaching Matters with an expertise in STEM and middle grades. In this role, Molly works with teachers to strengthen their instructional practices, as well as support school leadership in creating professional development sessions and analyzing data. Prior to Teaching Matters, Molly was a 4th grade teacher in Bed-Stuy, Brooklyn and then a 5th grade math teacher in Brownsville, Brooklyn. In both teaching roles, Molly’s passion was in educational equity and her belief that all students should receive a high quality education regardless of zip code. After her time in the classroom, Molly served as the STEM Instructional Coach and Academic Coordinator for a middle school in Brownsville, Brooklyn. There, she coached teachers in instructional pedagogy, using data to inform decisions, creating differentiated instruction for extraordinary learners and leading high impact professional development sessions.
Molly earned a bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education, grades K-8 from Michigan State University. She also received a Master of Arts in Teaching and Curriculum with a focus in Educational Psychology from Michigan State University. Molly previously spent time teaching 2nd grade in the Detroit Public School system and teaching English in Hungary where she fell in love with teaching middle school aged children. In her free time, Molly enjoys traveling, reading a good book, and exploring New York City’s restaurant scene.
