Laurie Goldberg is an educational consultant for Teaching Matters, with an expertise in special education. In this position, Laurie coaches leaders and educators in creating and developing classroom settings that best support learners with varied learning profiles. Laurie has extensive experience in designing unique and differentiated Common Core aligned curriculum; teaching a variety of subjects in self-contained settings, co-teaching with generalist teachers and coaching other teachers in best classroom management special education practices.
With 15 years experience as a learning specialist, instructional coach, team leader and consultant in both public and private school settings in New York City and Miami Beach, Laurie’s practice is highly sourced and developed from a holistic point of view, with an emphasis on equity and social emotional learning. Laurie has a Bachelor’s degree in Social Work from New York University and a Master’s degree in Students with Disabilities from CUNY City College.
