Jennie Toby is a virtual coach with the Emerging Teacher Leaders program with an expertise in teacher development. In this position, she supports educators eager to enhance their teacher leadership skills and elevate their instructional practice. Jennie also has extensive experience coaching educators, designing and delivering professional development and building highly effective teams in schools.
Prior to joining Teaching Matters, Jennie was a teacher and instructional coach in New York City schools. Then she became a Program Director supporting principals and overseeing a team of consultants as they implemented ambitious social emotional programs in schools. In addition to her work with Teaching Matters, she teaches a Masters Portfolio course at Johns Hopkins University School of Education and writes professional development for teachers and school leaders. Jennie has a Bachelors Degree in International Relations from Florida State University and a Masters degree in Childhood Education from Fordham University.
