Jen Gleason is the Associate Director of Service Design at Teaching Matters. She currently leads a team of consultants who support k-12 teachers to improve math instruction across New York City. As an educational consultant since 2008, Jen has supported teachers in deepening their formative assessment practices, and mentored teacher leaders to lead high-functioning professional learning communities, focused on student learning outcomes. Jen began her career as a software engineer at IBM, where she developed and tested enterprise security software. In addition, Jen worked for the Buck Institute for Education as an Education Pioneer Fellow and taught technology and robotics in schools across NYC. She earned an MA in Education from Columbia University Teachers College and holds a BS in Computer Science from Binghamton University.
