Dr. Fran Corvasce is a Senior Educational Consultant for Teaching Matters with an expertise in secondary literacy and social studies.  In this position, she supports educators in strengthening the skills of middle and high school students through curriculum alignment, planning and assessment, and modeling best instructional practices. Fran also has extensive experience writing 6-12 Common Core aligned literacy and social studies curriculum, training teacher leaders to run highly effective classrooms and teams, and supporting school leaders in designing instructional programs.

Prior to joining Teaching Matters, Fran was a teacher, instructional coach, and a district, regional and citywide administrator for the New York City Department of Education. Fran has earned a Bachelor’s Degree in English from Brooklyn College and a dual Doctorate in English and History from New York University.
