Olga Votis

Chairman Emerita, Teaching Matters

Olga Votis has served Teaching Matters for almost two decades, 13 years of which she was the Board Chair. During her tenure, Teaching Matters grew its cross-disciplinary portfolio of teacher development and coaching services so that more than 1,000 schools, 30,000 teachers and 500,000 students in underserved communities have been positively impacted. During the Covid-19 pandemic of 2020, the organization underwent a digital transformation, leading to the virtual training of up to 3,000 teachers a day.

Prior to her work at Teaching Matters, she was the Director of Music Programming at the 92nd Street Y. Ms. Votis brings creativity and know-how to Teaching Matters, along with the ability to apply an entrepreneurial spirit to her leadership on the Board. She holds a B.A. from Brown University and an MPhil from Cambridge University. Olga served as a Co-Chair of the Council of the New York Public Library and as a founding board member of the Columbia University Innovation Center. Olga also served as Executive Producer of The Shed in New York as it opened at Hudson Yards and she has been certified as a corporate director by the NACD since 2018.
