Twelve to fourteen percent of achievement gains for elementary math students can be attributed to the quality of their teacher. -– National Mathematics Advisory Panel, 2008

Teaching Matters’ math coaches lead teachers to improve the teaching and learning of math through targeted support in curriculum, assessment, instruction, and collaborative inquiry.

Teachers will learn how to establish standards-based common curricula and assessments, execute effective lessons that exemplify Common Core instructional shifts and Standards for Mathematical Practice, engage students in rich mathematical discussions, identify and address common student misconceptions, and collaboratively refine their instruction based on data analysis. As an important element, we also build the capacity of your math teacher leaders to sustain this work.
