Balanced Literacy and Technology
Can technology improve teaching and learning in the balanced literacy classroom?
Using technology strategically, Balanced Literacy and Technology: Promising Practices arms teachers with a variety of tools to tackle the components of their balanced literacy program, from “Read Aloud” to "word work." More importantly, Promising Practices shifts the power of learning into the hands of students, providing them with new and motivating ways to master the building blocks of literacy.
Balanced Literacy and Technology: Promising Practices offers teachers, staff developers and school leaders face-to-face workshops, in-classroom mentoring and live online classes. Accompanied by a “school-friendly” guide that includes lessons learned by New York City elementary school teachers who integrated technology with their literacy practices for the first time, the program provides resources for sharing within and among schools.
