Dr. Jennie Brotman

Director of Service Design

Dr. Brotman has been engaged in the field of education for over fifteen years. After working as a research scientist, she began her career in education by creating and teaching an inquiry-based science curriculum for a start-up middle school in Oakland, California. Jennie subsequently completed a Ph.D. in Science Education at Teachers College, Columbia University, where she investigated urban high school students' learning and decision-making about controversial science issues. She has also taught preservice and inservice teachers as an adjunct faculty member at Barnard College and has done professional development and curriculum development work in numerous New York City public schools. At Teaching Matters, Jennie has served as a Senior Educational Consultant for many years and currently leads the design and implementation of our professional learning services. Jennie holds a B.A. from the University of Pennsylvania.
