Deborah Woods has been in the education field for over eleven years as a teacher, teacher leader and school leader. In all school roles, Ms. Woods has had a history of success in student academic achievement and growth and is eager to bring her expertise to several schools across New York City. While her teaching career focused on middle school mathematics, she has coached teachers in math, science and social studies to significant gains. As the Network Math Specialist at a prominent NYC charter school, Ms. Woods led the transition to Common Core through curriculum creation and professional development. Her greatest strengths include: setting, modeling and maintaining high expectations, building trusting relationships with staff and key stakeholders, strategic action planning from data analysis, empowering educators to develop their instructional skills, and supporting an instructional program that achieves the expectations of the Common Core Learning Standards. She holds a Bachelor of Arts in Economics from the University of Pennsylvania, a Master of Teaching in Adolescent Mathematics from Pace University and a Master of Instructional School Leadership from RELAY Graduate School of Education.
